ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – A senior prank has likely landed felony charges for five Arlington teenagers. Ryan Westbrook, 17, Ethan Sigmund, 18, Christian Joeckel, 18, Hayden Honoloka, 17 and Cameron Bodenstab, 18, were arrested for allegedly tagging racist graffiti on the exterior of Martin High School. All are students at Arlington High, a rival school. What they wrote could land them behind bars for a year. They’re accused of spray painting profanity, vulgar pictures and the words “Whites Only” over a drinking fountain. The words “Trans Only” were also spray-painted near a bathroom. Police said the teens confessed. “They were pretty remorseful. I don’t think they gave a lot of thought to the ramifications unfortunatley, you’re held accountable for and there’s consequences when you engage in this sort of behavior,” said Lt. Christopher Cook of the Arlington Police. Bond for all five is set at $2,500 each. As word spread about the graffiti, teachers heard Martin students talking about whether there should be retaliation. “The next class came in and talked about what they were going to do in return,” said math teacher Silas Robinson. “Some of the students were saying no, don’t. Don’t react. Because you really don’t know.” “For them to do something like that to another school is very disrespectful and immature,” said student Kirstin Pham “I feel like were all miniature adults and should be treating each other as such.” Robinson had one piece of advice for his students just days from finishing the school year. “Finish the way you began,” he said. “Stay strong and focused.”
