Who uses popcorn ceilings anymore? Thats so 60's-70's! I go in most jobs and am paid to remove those!
-
My boss bought one of these to the site I've never used a Wagner anything because I'm a professional painter and I told him so so after looking on YouTube on how to use the thing much to my chagrin it worked flawlessly
-
Uhmmm, he didn't tape off the recessed light, the mud was to thick, he actually pour water in the hopper and mixed it with a stick, he calls himself a professional? Here in Phoenix he's a Buffoon!

Amateur Hour. This guy's a painter who does a little drywall work. His mixture was way too thick and why would you even attempt shooting acoustic using the smallest tip!? Just buy a hopper and a cheap air compressor and it'll be MUCH more effective and the air compressor can be used for a number of other things.

I agree with the small nozzle not working as expected. Anyone have tips for getting a good mixture for orange peel texture using this tool?
-
I did the math, buying one of these would be much more economical than having to repeatedly rent a gun/machine from the local equipment rental place. I can pack this tool away in a tub up in my garage with the rest of my drywall repair tools....and be ready should I need it again. Definitely going to buy one of these!

I have used this sprayer for over 2 years to do patch work and I have gotten my moneys worth out of it. payed 80 bucks new and now the blower is going out on it time to buy another one. great tool .
-
Just bought one today. Going to use it this weekend.

I've been looking at this gun for texturing patches only. Wondering if its worth it over buying aresol cans of texture
-
Mud was way to thick
-
Wow this guy is a "profesional" did not cover the recessed lights, the texture all over his hands. this guy wouldn't be not even a helper here in new orleans.

Well, I purchased this spray tool on Saturday, and used it on Sunday... IT WAS EXCELLENT. Easy to use, excellent coverage and even. I have never sprayed a ceiling before and it looks professional. I saved over $1000 based on quotes compared to what I actually spent. Actually, by brother in-law (professional taper) came for a look and asked to borrow the tool. He has a professional sprayer, but he has a small job this week and he felt this tool did as good of a job.

Okay. I went to HD to rent a machine to popcorn my kids play room and and hallway (contractor stepped through ceiling while running gas line to laundry room and he never returned to fix it). Anyways, I could rent a large machine for $70 for 24 hours, or purchase this machine for $110 CDN. I am going to purchase it this morning and give it a try. I will report later this weekend.,.. Wish me luck.

There's a great article out there on this machine entitled adventures with the powertex. The comments area will not allow me to post a link According to this article, the consistency of the mud being used in this video is way too thick. The thickness of latex paint was mentioned, and also the blue lid or now box at Home Depot. Most people said to stay away from the bags of texture, and use drywall mud instead--again blue label. I'm going to spray next week and will report back.

Looks like an alien's head.

Bought one of these machines to spray my kitchen ceiling. Wanted a medium orange peel but the machine lacked the power to put the mud on the ceiling. horrible job
-
His mom mustve made really thick pancakes!
-
That guys a slob. I used mine all for two hours and never got anything on my hands or on the gun.
-
I agree. Also with dry mix, make sure you let it hydrate about a half hour and then remix. Otherwise your bucket of mud will thicken on you while you work. And mix it smooth. The machine doesnt cotton to lumps. I just bought one today, and loved it. I thought irt worked better than an air sprayer, and no airhose pains. And itll stand there so you can fill it.
