Cool! I didn't know that. Can the TR-09 do the same thing? maybe someone will come out with a mod for it. I would have got it had it had the individual outputs. Anyway, I can't wait to take delivery of my TB-03! should be just under a month now!

Hey guys,
Having trouble getting a stereo feed from my TB-3 through the TR8's External In channel into Live via USB. The documentation from Roland is poor, tbh, but from what I've found, the signal should be coming in through channels 13/14 when using TR8 as the audio interface, correct? I'm only receiving what seems to be a summed to mono signal on channel 14, with silence on channel 13. It's not the cables. Once I pull one 1/4" out of either the TB-3 output or the TR8 input, the signal only softens on channel 14. I've seen other people out there on forums with this issue, burt have not yet seen a response. Please help! -
I've tried a million unsuccessful times to separate my outputs over USB.....
Everything wants to play out of output 1&2
I have signals with no output, but when I switch to channels one in two I get everything.
What am I doing wrong? -
for everyone who doesnt know how to get this working in other DAW's than ableton, use asio drivers and in the asio settings you can enable the multiple outputs.

Everything seem to work fine but when i'm recording i can only hear the kick and the snare. Nothing more, even if the faders are up...?

Great video, Im just having trouble with one method of setting this up via MIDI. Basically what I want to do is create 11 MIDI channels, one for each of the instruments on the TR8 (Kick, Snare, Hat etc) and have the MIDI notes that I draw in Logic, trigger the TR8 sounds. I do not want to record in audio like in this video because I cannot then change the settings on the TR8 if I need to make adjustments later on in my track. Any in depth help would be appreciated, thanks

I am getting to the exact point where you put input 3 on input and output Output 1+2 but then it does not let me listen to each individual channel even with input monitoring ticked ?? Help please :(

Anyone know how to do this in Pro Tools? Or if there is a tutorial somewhere?
-
I am still learning the new system Aira all by Roland
-
Hi thank you for your tutorial my question is with the Aira system which is the best DAW to use is it Pro tool, ableton, logic pro. And to let you know I work with MacBook pro. Please advice me Danny B Funman

Im guessing you've got two stereo channels playing everything all at once, if thats the case what would you use them two stereo tracks for?
-
Input 1 and 2 are the MAIN MIX OUTPUTS, THATS EVERYTHING OUT FROM A STEREO CHANNEL.What does that actually mean for absolute Novices like myself? ANYONE?
-
Is this easy to do in pro tools 11 as well?

Hello, I have everything set up in Logic X as it should be. I have my TR-8 coming through my monitors via the DAW in the separate audio channels as shown in the video. My problem is when i try to record the mix, it doesn't register anything apart from the kick drum. Do you know where i could be going wrong?

Hi, I have the TR-8 set up and synced ok, and I am using separate audio tracks for each drum sound BUT. When I add a new software instrument the midi signals trigger the software instrument and play it. I have tried deselecting [pad2] (midi though) on the tr-8 settings itself. But I'm still getting midi though to my software instruments and it is still placing them. Please help!!! Thanks in advance

Hi there, I am using Logic Pro X on an iMac. I have connected my TR8 via USB to iMac. Project preferences - Synchronisation - destination : My TR8 is not an option. It's not there. How do I resolve this to be able to use my TR8 in Logic.
Many thanks. -
How are you monitoring multiple channels simultaniously, I can only monitor one at a time.
-
Theres a HUGE important part skipped, how do we link the Tr-8 to Logic so that it shows up in your new track section as an input? referring to "what I need to do is take an input from the Tr-8 as you can see I have set up here"
please help, and also if you know how to do this in Pro Tools 11 as well thanks! -
hey Paul - awesome seeing you do this vid- it's Andrij Balan from Winnipeg, Canada - you were my teacher back in 2010 @ point blank - I just bought a tr-8 and yup its sweet! :) cheers mate! keep up the good work!

I own a TR8 and TB3. I had always wanted a 808/909 and 303 but was never able to afford them so when I first read about the Aira range to say I was massively excited would be a huge understatement. I pre ordered mine well in advance and as luck would have it I was one of the first in the country to get my hands on them. Although there are plenty of things I like about them, there are also plenty of things that I hate. Given the fact that one could argue these machines have been 30 years in the making (although thats not a point I'd argue), I really feel roland have fallen short. As a stand alone piece of hardware they're great (aside from the fact you can't solo a sound which in this day and age is unforgivable), however Roland should be experienced enough to realise that the vast majority of people who purchase these products will be using them primarily in a studio environment, not live, therefore they must cater to those people too. I almost feel like they've released an unfinished product. I'm glad that the Aira backlash has finally started because I've felt for along time unable to say anything negative about these products online without being crucified for it. Roland have been dining out on their past glories for far too long and we've allowed them to do it. But lets now be honest, in a live situation these products sound great and are fun to use. However they fall massively short in terms of integrating them into a studio environment. They're really is no excuse for that. And please don't anyone reply to me telling me how "cheap" they are for what you get. When you add it up they're NOT cheap for what you get. They're only cheap in compassion to the ridiculously extortionate prices 808's 909's and 303's are changing hands for.
