Way back in the 80's I worked at a hardware store and they used to recommend filtering the paint through either a mesh screen funnel or cheesecloth before running it through a homeowner tool such as a Wagner. Does the manifold filter on a pro machine handle that or do you strain it first also?

arent u saposed to run the machine and pump full of paint first and then prime the paint through paint gun.. u just did it through gun

Wouldn't it be wise to bleed the pressure off the machine before putting the nozzle and guard on? I know with hydraulic hoses leaking under pressure they'll shoot oil right into the skin and that is a really bad scene. Looks to me like an airless is like a hydraulic pump pushing paint instead of oil, so if you tapped the trigger at the wrong time, couldn't it end up the same? I'm used to hydraulic and you're used to airless. What do you think?
