did u reuse the heads studs arp s stretch after one use hence why they have instructions to torque in increments

brother so im having the shittiest time in the world trying to put my distributor back in, i have the block at tdc and the cams are pointing the right way and its on the compression stroke , but when i was trying to put it back in, it would bottom out and be very difficult to get the gears to slide together and still wouldn't go in 100% close like 1/2 in off but not all the way ... then i went and had the upper timing cover machined to what the shop did the head and that did seem to get it closer but still not all the way ... you said you had similar problems, do you have any tips or any info that could help me get this bitch back in there

you do not need to use copper spray when you have got the head and block decked it will seal perfect

Why not just copper spray the top of the top layer and the bottom of the bottom layer? If you're worried about getting a good seal, then the block and the head mating surfaces would be the ones of concern, right? All of the layers of the HG shouldn't have any issue between each other, I'd think. If somebody has experience otherwise, please chime in.
