Hi Ean, I really dig your professionalism and attention to detail and want to thank you for all the effort you put into making these videos and the articles on your website. I am in the verge of a career change and self educating myself on music production and DJ'ing. Right now I'm mapping two pieces of equipment (Novation Launchkey Mini and Launchpad Mini) to use in Traktor Pro and I can say that I'm doing a pretty good job at it. I also use a Windows 10 tablet for Traktor and an iPad Mini for TRFX. I also bought the TouchVIZ and HDMI output cable for the iPad and plan on creating visuals that are in sync with my performance. So, sorry for the long post but do you really think that my setup is OK or I will absolutely need a dedicated DJ controller like Traktor Kontrol S2/S4 in the long run?

Hi Ean, love the mapping and the library management video as well. I have a quick question, though. I am a windows user and have recently migrated my music library to Itunes and Traktor, respectively. When I buy music I sort out the genre and then import all files to Itunes, and let the smart playlists do their magic. I have noticed, though, that Itunes does not read the key (from MIK) and bpm information for all tracks. In most cases I check the files and the tags are written on them but are simply not recognised by Itunes, which means that I need to go to each file individually and enter the ID3 tag info manually...you can imagine the frustration. Have you encountered something similar before and do you happen to know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance. -
Ean - The tilde button does not seem to do anything, for me this has been at least since the 2.7.0 update so it might be a Traktor update that broke it. Quite a few users have mentioned it not working and it certainly hasn't been fixed with 2.8.1. Could you please update this as it is very fraustrating, especially after paying for it.

also, hitting "1" replaces the grid marker with a load marker. every track must have a grid marker - learned this the hard way (had songs jumping all over the place like my computer was possessed til i figured it out). so it would be better if the load marker took up position #2 instead of replacing #1's grid marker. thanks
-
pressing the tilde (squiggly) will only bring you to the grid marker (the one with a white triangle) - in the event that marker is not at the beginning of the song, you won't end up at the beginning of the song. sometimes Traktor places these grid markers in odd places. FYI -

nice, i really like your dedication to help us with every little thing. keep it up :D

Hey Ean..The new Mixed in Key 7 is setting cue points now.. not sure how well... Do you advise turning this feature off in Mixed In Key? As well, do you cover Mixed in Key in your Prep video, or do you rely/use Traktor's Key System?
Thx -
The mapping didn't work initially when I uploaded it. So, I had to remap a few of the commands. It should load cue point 1 and it beat grids. I noticed that I would skip through a few songs, which sound really bad. The same song doesn't do that in Rekordbox. But is it suppose to load 2 & 3 when you go to the next song? That's the problem I'm having with it....

Can you do a drum and bass beatgrid video?
-
I like all these videos of yours- lets see a track that does need some work-
How you go about that? -
I could not get this to completely work right. i correctly imported the TSI and all but the Tilda button does not bring the tracks to the first beat. other than that i guess it's cool.
-
I tried it and the ~ doen't seem to be part of the mapping.
Is that the correct one? -
After or before analyze tracks? Great tutorials, by the way.
-
10 bucks for 30 min tutorial it's kinda steep. 5 would be OK. I would pay 5 but 10 is too much. Love you guys but, please don't play like Apple.
-
Tap to the track, check that beat grid. I got lost there. how are you tapping the track? How is that zooming. Basically, whats going on between pressing 1 and 2?
-
Just for Mac ? =(

Squiggly line is officially called a 'Tilda'.
