Well i had seen a video by Ian Golden explaining 6 tricks for smooth transitions in between a set when two djs are swapping and these tricks would help them with few seconds to swap their connected laptops on the only USB cable available. Personally im a Traktor fan cos i use it with my DDJ-ERGO and i use a lot of Gater and phaser effects for transitions...

I haven't used any of the recent Pioneer mixers. It's good to know that there are other ways to achieve this effect.

Gater in traktor does the same trick that the Noise effect does in some of the high end Pioneer DJM mixers like DJM 900 etc.I use this gater feature to give scratch effects in my mixsets...helps in smooth transitions and blending of the tracks..and changing to the next deck track.
