Good job on the video & thank you for taking the time to make it.
Would like to point out a couple of things & hope you don't mind.
Those masks usually have particulate filters in them unless you get one specifically for "fumes". Particulate filters protect your lungs from the airborne atomized droplets of paint that exit the gun when you are spraying. If inhaled these particles of paint could in effect paint the insides of your lungs which could be detrimental to your health.
Warming lacquer thinner or paint thinned with is not a problem with boiling water. The only problem would be with an open flame or spark or hot surface of a metal that was very hot after being cut with a torch or grinder or other very hot surface. To my knowledge it is not feasible in the everyday work world to heat water to the ignition temperature of the lacquer thinner vapors flash point.
Also if you are concerned about repeatable consistency, you can use the stick as a viscosimeter by inserting it into the paint to a given depth and then counting the seconds until the stream breaks after lifting it (the stick) out of the paint. For the most part this is probably not necessary but when working on hard surfaces such as metal it can help reduce runs on vertical surfaces until you become familiar with the look of the paint flowing off the stick. By noting the time you can mix for a specific application in the future and at least be in the ball park. -
Great video - Thank you so much for making it.
