T Squared - The Traktor Midi Sync Tutorial (Sync 2 laptops)
Tricks, Ratschläge, Online, Reparieren, Landwirtschaft, Landwirtschaft Maschine
Let T Squared take you through the process of sending midi clock to another Traktor from start to finish. It doesnt matter whether your on Mac or PC... Feel free to ask questions...we didnt show the physical connecting of Audio 8's or midi outs to midi ins, because we figured your not that stupid!

sorry for being noob. what is the fade out or like arrow looking thing in the same yellow color as beatgrid before track and what is point of this setting? thanks for reply in advance ;)

its kinda easy to sync with Midi .. two interfaces can sync .. some interfaces Alone with a special midi to usb cable .. , then there is midi clock syncing , smpte time code , Then Macs can do it over Wifi and other methods , PC's can do it with midi Ports , simple as sender and receiver , programs and connections on both ends to make it work

Is there anyway to do this through a Kontrol S4??
-
Hello! Have you ever heard about the Rapid Cash Fortune? I found it on Google Search and read remarkable stuff about it. A lot of my colleague also suggest me to check out it
-
Hardware free? That would suggest cracked software...but anyway... It can be down over wifi/ethernet with OSC, but this is not something we ever tried. The idea of using timecode is a difficult one. You would need a stereo DA, then how do you route it to all decks...without hardware... TBH, i don't think this is as practical as you think, as the decks will just start playing...also the timecode would give you less than 30mins to work with, unless you had a separate TC generator...

I'm assuming this was done with MIDI clock. TSP will accept MTC though, correct (as that is essentially what is on the TC vinyl or CDs). Would it suffice to use an open deck & I/O channel? I don't run TSP currently & I have had massive frustration with the MIDI clock sync (mostly because I was experimenting with a hardware free way to do it eg: WiFi) in TP. If, however, an open deck could be used to run the timecode audio (& it could it be routed properly) would that not solve several problems?

yeah dude
-
nice one, is this still the same in the TSP2.5? cheers.

hi, its chris from T Squared, you can do it via ethernet using osc, but thats not something we've tried as this works for us and our set up

Anyone able to sync two S2's or a S2 and S4 ?!
-
Great vid by the way very informative...Is there a way to avoid all the additional midi equipment i.e. sound card/controller and just use a usb from laptop to laptop or perhaps a fire wire from laptop to laptop. Why do you need an actual midi device in between to continue a signal that's already coming out of the laptop?

I'm trying to sync my Maschine, with my friends S4. Preferably with two computers, is there anyone here who could have any tips for that?

I've got everything working up to hearing the tick on both systems. The midi lights aren't lighting up on the Audio10 of the sending system. Not sure why that is? Also, the Master buttons within the Metronome section stay lit on both systems. I'm running Traktor Pro2 on both computers. Any help would be appreciated.
-
@dunnymusic nope, aslong as they have midi
-
Do both soundcards have to be the same can i use two different ones from different manufacturers ?
-
@thebachelordj Yes we did, tried everything :( Just gonna mix from off each other, would of been cool to get it up working
-
@weshakeandbake have u pressed the play/pause button in the clock section on the sending machine?
-
Hey guys, I'm having a problem. On one of the laptops (Macbook 2.1) it doesn't seem to be able to send midi out (no green light on audio8) when we tried it on the other mac (Macbook Pro) with the same Audio8 it can send midi out (Greeen light flash) any idea on what we can do? - Also looked at ethernet connection but can't see midi settings in Traktor
-
Is this work with 2 audio 4??
-
I have tried to synch traktor pro on 2 macs a couple of times and I do get it to work but they never seem to be be perfectly synched. I always have to do beatmatching corrections on the decks in traktor. Is there a way to get these midi signals from one computer to another PERFECTLY synched?
