Gary Emmert of Terra Plana Family Farms in Georgetown, Illinois shows Lance Grace how to spray soy beans using a Hagie sprayer with a 120' boom. The total system includes an 18 wheeler for chemical and water storage along with mixing and pumping equipment to load the sprayer. The sprayer can easily fold its boom to allow it to drive down the highway to meet the support vehicle at the next location. The spray vehicle integrates GPS with GIS data along with autosteer, ultrasonic height sensors on the boom and variable rate nozzles to automatically apply the desired amount of chemicals on the crops.
