Nemo Helio Pressure Shower Review

You can find more info on the Helio Shower here: http://goo.gl/WPsF7 The Nemo Helio Pressure Shower works pretty well. You can definitely take a shower with the 2.9 gallon tank. I will keep you posted on my future uses with this camping shower. I think there could be a lot of uses for this in the outdoors. The things I will be keeping my eye on is the thick rubber seals and the plugs. I'm really hoping this shower will last a long time. Time will tell. On the pump, the top valve needs to be open to pump air. When taking a shower water might get into the pump, that is what the drain valve is for on the bottom. I have figured a good way to get this thing back into it's case. I will make another video about this soon. http://www.capturingtheelements.com/

please no music. It makes it hard to hear the speaking. and it's annoying.

Thank you for the review, but why the annoying music

Nice video Brett; do you know what the hole on the bottom of the foot pump does? My system doesn't have any details.

I've used the Sea to Summit pocket shower while backpacking and it works decently, either with solar or stove water heating. Much better than no shower at all. The problem is you have to hang it above your head for gravity to do the work, and it's often difficult to find a spot away from camp (for modesty and comfort for all) that's kinda close to a water source (you need 10 liters) and isn't a mudpit and has a sturdy enough tree branch high enough. That's a tall order. Totally worth it though to crawl into your sleeping bag with a clean body. I certainly sleep much better.
I'm thinking this Nemo shower may partially solve this problem because you don't need to hang it. You can sit it down on the ground and the water pressure looks good enough to force the water up the hose to your head.. The drawbacks are cost, weight, and space. The Nemo definitely costs more ($100 vs. $24 - $33), weighs more (25 oz. vs. 4.25 oz.), and packs bigger (8.5" X 5.5" vs. 3" X 6"). -
This looks good but I'm not sure if the pressure is strong enough and the nozzle is too narrowfor what I intend to use it for - like cleaning off my patio and car. I've looked at other videos of portable pressure washers, and so far, I'm really leaning towards the RinseKit. One interesting thing about the Helio is that this is the first pressure washer I've seen that is inflatable. The others were made of hard plastic. I became concerned when you mentioned the leaking air at the top. I'm still researching and leaning towards the RinseKit, but I will keep the Helio in mind before I make a final purchase. Great review though.

Turn the back ground music off.

That's great. Thanks for the video.

Look what water does to sand. The ultimate test? it is a pressurized water system, of course it's going to work. Water is water. All that to say, it was a good review and I'll build one of these myself. Thanks!

Hey, I got a Helio from REI and finding it works wonders. My one question: what would be the best way to dry it out before putting it in storage? Great demo by the way.
-
Great review...........thanks. I picked one up, but have not used it yet.

Nice presentation, although the music is annoying and drowns out your voice.
As for the product, it sells for $100. which is $80 too much. I can buy a garden sprayer and replace the spray-nozzle for under $25. The extra pound in weight and inability to collapse a sprayer is not worth $80. especially considering this is a car-camping only item, and backpackers are not going to pack either of these items on a trip.

Not only is the cost of the garden sprayer better; but the fill-hole is larger (no funnel needed), it can hold 'hot' water, and it's not going to get puncture holes in it while it's bouncing around the back of the car, rendering it useless. -
is t possible to keep pumping while using t simultaneously? tanx

Thanks for the demo, Brett! I was looking for a good camp shower and I read a lot of positive reviews of this product. This will be great for my camp kitchen as well. Thanks again!

looks perfect for my dogs after running on the beach :)

Excellent presentation! I really appreciate your demonstration. I was looking for a "car-camping" shower device and I think this might be exactly what I'm looking for. I had no idea this even existed, until stumbling upon your video. Please keep up the good work!

You're welcome!

Great review Brett! Thanks for such a nice, well thought out, and straight to the point review. We went out and bought it for our camping trip!
-
Thank you for watching. It packs down pretty small and is light weight. I will only use this car camping, I would never pack this into the backcountry but that is just me.

Wow, that's a great review. I've been pondering camp showers for some time now, but have yet to pull the trigger. The Helio looks a bit large for us (we're motorcycle travelers) but performance looks great. I really appreciate you taking the time to film such a thorough review!

Big thanks for such a detailed review. This item really needed it.
