By accident I let the bullnose and doorway dry a little more. I bought a curved tool from All-Walll, expensive for one time use but did the job. No line seams from knifes. Painted with latex arylic sealer, primer, paint. Looks great.

So where's the part about drywall repair/blending orange peel?
-
Wrong this is for patching

How would you do knock down on a double bull nose archway?
-
I friend of mine let use his texture sprayer
I sprayed a 5/10 ceiling and it looks amazing
saved me good money.
I would buy one now for small jobs like this.
note: when you spraying a new ceiling start from one corner and come along evenlyif you are doing a patch, make sure you scrape off a little bit more than the damage area and also make use when you use plaster to do it evenly. -
I thought this video was great, but it didn't go into the proper mud thickness enough. I don't like knock down, but prefer a very slight orange peel to a flat wall. I see it all over the place. That's my two cents from Wisconsin.

Excellent video! I've been taping and finishing for years and consider texturing much more durable than flat finished walls.
The amount of work flat walls require makes texturing much more practical. Repairing damage to a flat finished wall requires much more work than repairs to a textured wall. Screw the haters... -
never start texturing in the middle of the wall it will never be even
-
how long do you let it sit before flattening out texture?? How many min

Mike, that's too bad you think this is ugly. Know what I think is ugly? Flat, smooth walls with dings in them because little johnny threw a toy too hard. Enjoy your scuffed up, "damaged" walls, mine look uniform with a texture. Dumbass.

finally a vid that has a camera close enough to see what is being done.
-
I'm only watching this because I want to see what the thumb butts do and how to fix it.
-
Still, nothing beats a nice and smooth wall finish that few are willing to do or pay for these days

Here in the NW, I am asked to do small patch repairs on walls with this ugly junk. What a pain. Mostly in overpriced track homes made in a hurry with drywallers in and out in just a few days. When I see these walls, I think 'cheap'

The Tex sprayer is meant for SMALL jobs, if you are going to be doing large areas then you would need a texture gun and a compressor.
-
haha exactly
-
have u ever heard of mixing paint with the texture

I'm from California and I've asked a few painters about texturing in South Carolina. They never call me back...too much work i guess? I've done this before in my shed and now I'm ready to take on a home job. It always sucks when someone makes utube comments that slam video's based on their own personal taste and preference. Thanks for the info very helpful for people that like textured walls.

From California but live in the Mid-west. I LOVE the look of OP knock down texture. Reminds me of home. Will be putting this in my basement remodeling folder! Trying to lessen the work for my poor hubby. Plain drywall requires WAY to much sanding, dust, time! Ugh! OP all the way. With nice color of paint, BEAUTIFUL!
