Generally speaking, you don't want to apply LACQUERS over ENAMELS. I use flat water base paints as a base coat under lacquer sanding sealers. Sherwin Williams has great lacquer products. Spraying Lacquer On Flat Surfaces. Over Interior Flat Paint. The last coat was the finish. It is a lacquer base finish that you can get on line. The last coat is also sprayed on and it is the finish. sanding sealer is different than Finish lacquer. The sanding sealer helps build up and makes the job smooth. then apply your clean lacquer finish on top of your sanding sealer last coat after you sand it. Thanks and I hope this helps. which gun do you prefer for water based epoxies such as sherwin williams pro-industrial line of products.... i am currently using the Titan cap spray 105 and am seeking a bit more like an automotive finish than the Titan offers... I mix the epoxy with an M-1 extender currently which I feel would be a great agent mix with the finer tipped guns - even with a so called water based exotic like the pre-catalyzed epoxy from sherwin williams... any thoughts Sir??

Just watched your video. Nice information. I wanted to ask why you used the sanding sealer over the paint? And then did you spray a clear coat after the sealer or was that what you used for a clear coat? Thanks in advanced.

Great explanation. Nothing fancy - just do it and make it look good and do it for as little money as you can. You are the MAN!

Good job bud! I am fixing to get started on my first piece. I am using laq. finish. What PSI level should I set mine to?
Got it from a yard sale:

I just came across your vid. Great job explaining spray gun technique. I currently own a pancake compressor. I have some unfinished shaker doors I need to paint. I really want to spray them rather than brush. Our trim is an SW oil base bright white trim paint. Can I use a gravity fed spray gun with this setup? What type clear coat would you recommend?

Hi Mr. Redneck, I want to thank you for making this video. I went and got a sprayer and compressor, and I love to spray bookcases and tables etc... I want to do my kitchen cupboard doors and drawers, but my lack of success in 'filling' all the wood grain is really putting me off. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!
