why did you choose to place the marker close to the beat but not quite on it???

Hi :) Do you know why I can't set a Cup between 2 grits ? even when I haven't set a grid to the track and in settings "set beat-grid when detecting BPM" isn't activated ... when I try to set a Cup between 2 grids it jumps to the nearest one ... can it be set not to do this ? Thanks

I'm having some issues with Traktor Pro 2 beatgrid, every time I lock the grid and come back the following day, some of my beatgrids have shifted to the right, which means everything is off, it means beat gridding the same track over and over again, any suggestions please.
-
When you lock the grid you cannot add additional grid markers or move the grid markers that are currently placed throughout the track. You shouldn't be able to delete them either. The non-grid cue points don't affect the grid, so you can delete saved cue, loop, fade-in, fade-out, and load markers all you want.
-
So are you saying that after you lock the beat grid that you can potentially delete ALL the cue points and not have it affect the beat grid?

I've never tried it myself, but I read about it. The idea is that you create multiple sections in your tracks of grids at different BPMs. I know that you can place multiple grid markers, but I've never actually tried it on a tack with multiple BPMs. Traktor has never been particularly good about tracks with BPM variances though, so for all I know it may not actually work...or work well.

Re your comment on multiple beatgrids, Peter, doesn't that imply that TP2 will acknowledge multiple bpms? I'm not aware of how this would work, as thus far I'm pretty sure it doesn't, but I'd be happy to be proved wrong, if you have footage to display otherwise? :-)

I just discovered how to make it a one-shot. When loading a sample to the remix it automatically becomes a looped sample by default. To make it a one-shot sample you have to keep shift pressed down at the same time as you are loading a sample. If you try to press at the loop button with the mouse to change it to a one-shot it just loops the sample from the beginning.
-
The trick in this case would be to use multiple beatgrids. Let's say there are 3 sections. 128, 128-140, 140. Set 3 beat grid markers so that each section has its own grid spacing. There will be some drifting in the section that has a change in bpm (in this example the 128-140), but you'll be able to sync during the constant BPM sections.

I haven't upgraded to 2.6.1. I'm still on OSX 10.6 and really don't want to upgrade to 10.7. I wasn't aware that the remix decks changed in the last update. Do the remix deck loop samples even if they are set to one-shot? Try right clicking on the sample you want in the browser and set it to a one shot. That should disable it from being looped.
-
(A question about the remix sets) Do you happen to know how to turn on and off the looping on samples in version 2,6,1? Been searching everywhere but everyone is using a older version.

This video was already finished before you left your comment. It is a technique that I've had to use a lot recently, so I figured I'd share the tip.
