http://outdoortankless.com/products/instant-hot-water-anywhere-tankless-water-heater-bundle12v-pump-strainer *** Get the Eccotemp L5 Water Heater + Flojet 12v Water Pump at OutdoorTankless.com *** The Eccotemp L5 Water Heater is one of the most popular portable water heaters on the market but it has one big limitation on its portability: since it doesn't have an integrated pump, it relies on a garden faucet to supply the water pressure. So at a campsite or cabin with no running water, getting the L5 to heat water can be a big problem. Luckily, we've found the solution: the Flojet LF122202A 12v Water Pump. Combined with the Flojet Water Pump, the Eccotemp L5 gets the water pressure it needs to provide a nice, warm shower and becomes truly portable as it can now be taken anywhere. Of course, other similar specs water pumps may be used but as we haven't tested them, we can't say how well they work with the L5. What we can say is that the Flojet LF122202A works marvelously well with the L5, as you can see by watching the video. Here are the extra parts needed to connect the Flojet water pump to the Eccotemp L5: (Available at most hardware stores) - 1 x Hose washer - 2 x Wire nuts - 1 x Hose clamp - 1 x 3/8" hose barb x 3/4" male garden hose adapter - 3/8" vinyl tubing - 1 x 12v replacement cord - 1 x Battery clip power adapter Also needed is a way to power the water pump. Here are three different energy sources that can be used to power the water pump: - Battery Starter Pack - 12v battery (Deep cycle battery is better) - 12v power outlet (cigarette lighter plug)

Thanks for the thoughts you have contributed here.

What about the water heater? It works by itself? doesn't need any wiring? no electricity no gas? And other than that you need fuses/circuit breakers for the electrical water pump before connecting it with battery - it's not safe in the long run. So maybe it isn't just that simple after all?

do you still need the propane tank with this install?

Thank u. Finally! a video the made it easy for me to plan for my tiny home. I got 2, one for bathroom n 1 for kitchen.

Poor tree.

Have you guys ever hooked this up to a solar panel? We're talking third world--we can haul in propane for the heater, but there are no batteries--only plenty of filthy workers who'd like a hot shower.

@artnoll Hey thanks a lot! Glad it was helpful. We'll create an even better video of the bundle next summer showcasing a different pump that we're using now and a strainer to keep debris out of the pump.

hey thanks for the in depth video. That answers everything.

To much drama ... The music sucks ...

Hey Paddyboy, The shower head supplied with the water heater already does that. When setting the control button located on the shower head to the off position, the water pump stops working so the water flow stops as well. It's even better that way since you may be standing at a distance from the water heater while you're taking a shower and not be able to turn the water off easily but the shower head is always close to you and easily accessible.

just put a valve (faucet) at the water inlet on the heater. that will allow the pump to shut on and off by itself as the faucet is turned on or off....then no worries of touching electic plug while wet.
