Making sure that your spray gun is clean is more important than you think. Cleaning your gun on the regular will ensure that you get the most performance out of it. You will have a perfect fan pattern, you won’t have problems mid-spraying, and it even looks nice when its clean. In this video, I show you how I clean my DYC sprayer with some paint thinner and some cleaning tools that I picked up online. A link for it is below. When you are spraying a base color followed up with a top coat/pearls should you clean you clean your gun between the base and top coat? I'm going to be painting my car balloon white and the base is white followed up with clear/pearl. Thanks.

Thanks for the vid, had a few questions. I have the advanced turbine kit and plan on dipping a car for the first time next week. I'm planning to do a base coat, and then using top coat with pearls and then a topcoat by itself. When I'm changing between colors how would you recommend doing so? After I'm done with the base coat, should I run thinner thru the gun before putting in the topcoat with pearl and repeat for the last step? Also when you are refilling the hopper just with the same color would you need to clean it or can you just add product?

Great video. I'm about to do my 04 GTO and the only thing I was needing to know was how to clean the DYC spray gun

I've cleaned my gun every time I've finished using it, however it's been taking a while for each coat to dry (between 25-35 min). I'm sure some of the dip is already drying in the gun because of that lengthy wait. Do you clean the gun between coats? Not to the extent that you went in this video, but maybe spraying thinner/ water through the gun between coats? Thank you in advance.

Hi there. Is there a reason why you didn't take the needle out of the gun to clean it? The metal removable needle is one of the reasons why I prefer the DYC gun over any Wagner spray system, and I find removing the needle from the DYC gun with the removal tool that comes in the package very easy. So whenever I clean the gun, I remove the needle to clean it. Is that doing too much?

Question: instead of spending hundreds of dollars on the DYC gun and HPLV, what about a spray gun you'd use for house painting? Is that another option?

would you say that this is essentially the same process to clean the other gun? the vhld gun or whatever its called

Hi, i just plastidip my car emblems and i dont know what happened but i cant remove the edges of each letter, i pull but the plastidip dont follow the outline of each letter.

I apply 5 layers
too thin ,too thick ,let it sit too much time? (24hrs)

I don't think you were detailed enough with cleaning it out... O.o I clean airless paint sprayers at my work and usually don't do THAT much to them. Lol.

May I ask what is the brand of that thinner and where you got it? I just went to Walmart and their thinner sucked, did not work at all. Thank you.

Thanks man, I was dipping my brand new BRZ but I failed so miserably so I got discouraged to clean and just the DYC system with dips in there for almost 2 weeks now. It is going to be a pain in the butt for me to get it clean. Heading off to Walmart now for the pain thinner. Appreciated your video man.
