http://www.thinklikeahorse.org/ I talk about a pressure pump spray bottle that can be used for applying fly spray. The bottle can be found in the garden department at Walmart or other garden shops. It cost about 9 or 10 bucks. Yes I know the spray is adjustable and I tried to twist the end for a finer spray - I know someone will try and save me tell how I should try this. Buddy lays down and scratches his belly. Mr. T refuses to answer my question does he want a cookie. I think this sprayer sprays too much and too thick so it waste a lot of fly spray, so I prefer a good quality spray bottle with a better mist spray. This would be good for training a horse to accept fly spray by filling the pressure bottle with water and spraying down the horse so he gets used to it being sprayed. Buddy was a bad boy and ran off when I tried to spray him. Me spraying Buddy with no lead rope and allowing him the ability to run off and give himself his own release, teaches him bad lessons. I would not do this with a new or green horse that I was trying to teach a good lesson. DO NOT CHASE YOUR HORSE WITH FLY SPRAY. I have a recipe for homemade fly spray on my web site: http://thinklikeahorse.org/index-2.html#119 Buddy don't care if I play and chase him and I can fix this bad lesson very easily. If you do this with a new horse or one that is not sacked out well on fly spray, you will teach him to run away and get his own release from the pressure of the fly spray. Pressure and release has to be controlled by you NOT the horse. The will tell you when you go too fast or too much or do not give release enough for that horse, but you don't want a horse getting is own release when he chooses. NOW with that said if you are a dummy and put too much pressure and your horse rears or reacts strongly then you went too fast and failed to read the horse good enough to give proper release for training and learning to take place. Any horse can forced to rear, run off or fight, all it takes is a stupid human trying to go too fast and in a hurry.
