A graffiti artist got caught red-handed, and on-camera, early Wednesday morning. Our own Bobby Hughes caught exclusive video of someone spray-painting graffiti on a bridge over Interstate 55 in Downtown St. Louis. He was live on FOX2 News in the Morning. "Lately, I've seen a lot more of it," said St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay. "So, it seems like they’ve been pretty busy. And, it looks a lot like it's been coming from the same group of individuals." Since those who vandalize buildings have virtually never been seen in daylight, Slay said he had plans for this extremely rare footage. "I want to make sure we take a look at this video," he said. "We want to make sure and see if we can identify. I've talked to the police chief already. He's going to be on it." One can easily find tags on vacant buildings, operating businesses, even dumpsters. Some might say the images are intricate and beautiful. But, even the artists agree they are also illegal. "There is a time and a place for public art," Slay said. "Not just anywhere you want to put it, not on public property and not on other private property." The darkness failed to cover this tagger, who seemed oblivious to the camera catching his every move. Mayor slay had a message for the graffiti artist, who is now a vandalism suspect. "Somebody's watching. And if we catch you, you're gonna pay."
