graco is a great sprayer company. this particular line magnum pro commonly found at consumer grade outlets like home depot or lowes is just that consumer grade. for anyone actually considering painting for a living i recommend their professional line of sprayers more commonly found at companies like sherwin williams or dunn edwards. but to get the best price check professional grade tool companies in your area. here in las vegas we have places like fasteners inc.

Yes. You can change the tip size and adjust the spray pressure.
-
You bet ! It is airless, so there is not a LOT of over spray... BUT there is SOME. You would have to cover anything that you don't want to get residual paint on. But, I DID seal a room off with a sheet of plastic, and didn't see any signs of over spray in the next room. It is better used in new construction when you don't have to worry about covering stuff up... but lots of painters use them inside for remodeling.

Are these sprayers suitable for the interior of a house?
-
It's not a very good one but for a DYI er it's ok

As I mentioned, I also have a tip for spraying oil base products. I'm not an expert as to what tip goes with what product (stain, latex, etc), but I'm sure Graco has some literature on it. There are a couple of good comments here from folks that are pros. But, to answer your question in a word ... YES... this will spray the crap out of stain. You'll like it.

sorry...

You are killing us starving painters brother :/
-
BTW...there are many tip sizes to choose from, each for a different situation / material.
-
Depends on the type of stain, brand, oil or water based. Turn your pressure way low when using a thin material and adjust from there. Graco makes tips that fit Graco guns, although you can use an adapter on the spray line and use any brand gun you choose. Thing is fast isnt always better. If you spray stain for example, you may have to "tip it out" or brush behind the sprayer. Same with backrolling, in order to make the paint grip, you need to follow with a roller. I have painted for 25 years ;)

I have the same XR9 sprayer, and like you said, it paid for it's self the first time I painted my house.
-
When I first started the video I thought I was being talked to by a Graco sprayer. You're a good ventriloquist!
-
As I said in the video, my house is stained wood. It stains like a dream ! I have stained it twice with the Graco. You won't believe how fast it goes on...
-
Can you put things like stain through a machine like this, such as staining a deck or the siding of a wood shed? If so, do you have to use a special stain? Thanks!

Every dang time I come to your channel I leave with so many other projects I need to get done! So many ideas now on what I need to paint....great video!
