i have a internal setup with Xone:K2 controlling 3 decks of Traktor and a group of efects, and i will get the F1 for deck D

I'm thinking of getting the AKAI APC 40mk2 and mapping it for tractor... looks like a way better option, and also opens up the world of ableton... F1's look limited and even the Traktor S8 looks fiddly... what do you reckon on the Akai?

Good job mate!....F1 is a great controller. Please check out my new set using PIONEER DDJ-SX + KONTROL F1 Tech House Set 01 - Antto Neves, Cartagena de Indias and let me know if you like it. Saludos ; )

Can't you run F1 through Aux on a 2 channel mixer? I have Numark X5 w/ 2 band EQ on the Aux which I'm using for C&D decks.

Yeah, people need to understand that the remix decks is not a 'standard' for of DJ'ing, it's a whole different world. I am glad you are experimenting with this style of DJ'ing.

I haven;t used it with an S2, but I feel that it is possible - is there someone out there that could confirm?
-
I can understand how the F1 is useless if you don't want to 'produce' on the fly. If you don't want to work at your DJ sets, or want to get creative with the remix decks then the F1 can be too much to handle. It IS a completely different way of DJ'ing and understandably not for everyone. The F1 begins to shine when you want to mash up your existing tracks without taking the lazy route of buying other peoples remix packs. Even more so if you produce your own music using maschine.

The s4 only touches the surface of the Remix decks. the F1 is a hugely indepth way to take Full control over the remix decks - If you want to truly use the remix decks the F1 is an amazing addition.

I already has a Kontrol S4. Do you think i REALLY need to add an F1 unit or it is redundant with the functions S4 already do?
-
You really need to have a four channel controller or mixer to use the F1 properly. I am using the Numark 4trak with the F1. It adds another dimention to your routines, but It is also more work for the dj. The samples that came with it or downloaded I don't use much, but I have made my own samples with the sounds I play it works for me.

Traktor F1 is a piece of s**t! I bought myself two of these and got bored of them VERY quickly! All the remix set that were being released on Beatport and NI website were hard euro techno crap and really bad dub step!!! I sold them for half the price I bought them for cos they were gathering dust! The sample packs that you get with the F1 are REALLY bad also! Don't waste your money on these glorified computer mouse! Without a computer these pieces of hardware are redundant!

If used with the Kontrol S2 in internal mixing mode - will I be able to monitor the F1 with the headphones connected to the S2?
