DJ TIP: Serato Flip Help - To Quantize or Nah?
Tricks, Ratschläge, Online, Reparieren, Landwirtschaft, Landwirtschaft Maschine
Here is episode #1 in a series of tips that I am putting together to help with Serato Flip. This one talks about whether or not to use quantize, and some of the issues that will come up that may cause a problem with your transition staying on beat. Some people think that hitting the quantize button will guarantee that everything will be roses and rainbows as far as keeping your mix on beat. I'm here to tell you that it ain't. Depending on things like when you trigger your cue points while building your Flip, how accurately set your cues are in the first place, and most importantly the capabilities of your computer hardware, your flip my fall flat. Hopefully this will help you tighten things up a bit. If you like it, say it... if not, eat a dick and keep it pushing.

that some deep helpful tip this happened to me .......that's why I say a computer can never compensate for our human soul for music ...but yeah this happened to me during a flip I was creating, so I don't even use quantize maybe just for some quick cue drumming.....dj KENSKE illadel

Keep them coming. Even if you’re bored, you give me something to consider, friend.

I got it!! So, of course the Flip can't be edited once created, but the plus side is that the Flip doesn't have to be created in real time!!
To get around the issue of getting the inserted cue point to be "perfect", you can just pause the track, and align the spot where you want the Flip to happen, press the cue, and the placement will be perfect. I'll make a video to explain.

I've been wondering myself if the Flip, once it's been created, can be edited, or steps changed? Nice vid BTW.
I've got an idea, but it'll take me a few days to try it out. I'll try to respond.

That loop button makes a big difference too!
