Diepliggende grondlagen worden naar boven geploegd om de grond geschikt te maken voor andere gewassen en beter bewerkbaar te maken. My response is related to the question posed by Bob Goddard--what is the next step after deep plowing. Typically, deep plowing is performed to counteract soil compaction. Looser soil improves crop yields and drainage. However, there may be other conditions that warrant deep plowing. Spent or exhausted soil can be improved by adding organic matter. So, the farmer will deep plow and disc, then add abundant organic matter or manure; then leave the field untilled. The farmer may repeat the process again depending on the condition of the soil. Hope that helps you understand the typical role of deep plowing.
