now will airbrushing come out the same way as spray paint
-
For people who are new to oil paints you need to be in a ventilated area because oil paint is extremly toxic
-
Do you use a clear coat after painting to seal it?
-
Hi, thank you so much for the video! Would you still get the same affect if you use acrylic paint ?
-

Something to keep in mind, if you are new to oil painting, that drying time depends on brand, and often you need a solution to make the paint able to dry. I didn't have this solution for my oil paint, and it took 2 weeks to dry. I had only written my name, and the layer was also really thin. Just so people doesn't get too surprised, if the paint isn't dry after 48 hours.

why not acrylic? can acrylic paint be used?
-
This is reeeaaaaally awesome. I love how you make it seem so easy and affordable. I feel like I have to start cosplaying right away. :D

in the first 30 seconds you gave me hope for my cosplay. There aren't any YUKI YUNA cosplays out there that don't look like amatures even thought you can tell they put hars core work into them. this is why. there foam is unpainted it looks just like the before armor. THANK YOU YOU BEAUTIFUL SOUL FOR MAKING THIS.

Hello~ New~
How do you add the extra layers and edging? You have a video on the basic shape, and then this one on painting....Did I miss something? -
Very cool info. Wood glue as a primer/filler---never would have thought.
Do you find the wood glue ever cracks or peels?
Does any of the paint peel or crack?
I never thought to use oil paint for something like this, I would have immediately went to acrylic as I have used it to paint fabrics.
Thanks for this video. I never thought of creating cosplay / costume items like this but might give me another creative avenue to follow -
I was wondering what brushes you would recommend for this?
-
Hi, great work. I have a question for you. Would you paint before hot gluing a piece or does it make no difference to paint after? Because i'm wondering if the hot glue will adhere to the paint and not the foam itself making the connection not strong.
-
Is using acrylic paint can do the same technic? or this in only can do on oil paints?
-
So after I've finished painting everything, how do I seal it and with what? Been hearing a lot that if you don't seal it, the paint will crack.
-
hey there, did you water down your wood glue before you put it on? it sounds like it would be really thick to just put on straight, or is wood glue pretty thin anyway? i dont have much experience with EVAs and i wanna find out as much as possible before i ruin something :)

What kind of spray paint did you use to get such a shiny metallic finish?? I need something like that for an armor I am making

Love your cosplays! But if you are going to use oil paints I highly recommend you wear disposable gloves for the smudging, also it should be used in a very, very well ventilated area, oil paint is very toxic. I'd recommend trying water mixable oils, they are less toxic and can be thinned with water unlike regular oils. The end result looks great though!
