The S4 and S8 have been listed as working sound cards for traktor scratch. Does the S5 work as a sound card as well or no? if not, why not?
-
Can you hook up a turntable and skratch any of the 4 stems while playing?
-
I dont want to be that guy butI can hold shift and scratch with the same hand.
Or remape the controller -
Hey - thank you for that great demonstration! Very honest and important! Can you also tell me, if I am able to do a backspin-effect with the touch stripes? Thanks!

Call me old fashioned but I love vinyl. I appreciate digital jockey's and the technology but if you want to scratch use the right kit. good video though, and don't get me wrong I think the traktor products are awsome.

Sorry man!!...No es lo mismo!!...i need the jog!!
-
Edit your cue points and loops, your get all the scratching you want

Absolutly nothing wrong with jog wheel or for anything else, at the end of the day you have to find a solution that fits your work flow, i have an S8 and love it the pitch strips work great. I personally look at it as a mixer with added transport features. Personally i go for the full size CDJ or turntable option which the S8 fully supports, it i can bring those elements out its nice to know i still have all the control in the world. Respect and peace out.

traktor S8 and maschine running through ableton. the producers choice. No need for jog wheels why spend time beatmatching it's just one skill and jus gets boring in the grand scheme of performing live. always innovate and push the boundaries that's what techno was all about. I am sure if all this was available the originators of the turntable mix would have loved it and pushed them to the max

Hey chaps, firstly these are not designed for this use. Second, If you are a scratch dj then you'll own a set of turntables or make a point of owning a set if starting out. This works very well with timecode vinyl or cd on all 4 channels. I love my s8 without jogs and use aditional equipment on each side of the "s8 mixer" cos end of day it is a gloryfied mixer!
Watch dj shifty use this with timecode vinyl.
I understand digital dj tips show of digital equipment and give advise where possible but why cut cheese with a spoon?! Please use correct tools for the job. -
Any word on an s5 review?
-
Horrid tech, Y take away jog wheels, not 4 me, YuCk !!!
-
great effort!!!!

How about a latex glove to stop da burns Steve LOL
-
Steve, Great video, but I have a question - you would be able to scratch if you use CDJ's, but would you still be able to use all the functionality of the S8?
-
Decent attempt Steve, but I don't think NI wants you to scratch with it. It's all about their "stem files" now... Traktor is starting to transform into a piece of software for a niche market. The only reason I am still using it is rekordbudddy, and with rekordbox DJ out I don't think I will keep using it anymore.
-
NI does big mistake witout jog wheel.
-
can't you just have any rotary midi input control the decks and then scratch using that and a fader? you lose it's functionality somewhere else, but it's seems like a better workaround than a touchstrip...?
-
you probably can map the shift button to toggle on and off.
-
NI doesn't do scratching anymore.
