Agreed. Hands off the music, unless it's your original productions. I don't like DJs butchering up the groove. They confuse their own technical amusement with musical expression. But that's what separates good DJs from the rest. It is just as important what notes we don't play and what we don't do that gives context to the things we do.

@tsurapis Thanks a lot bro!

YOU ARE MAKING CRAZY MUSIC...ISSSSSSSSSSS PERFECT

@DjRocknSteady Tks man. It's doable with some practice :) See you on big stages!

@MrFunkyDigital Thank you sir! Happy Mixing!

@Liam2326 I route 3 decks of Traktor to 3 channels on the mixer and Ableton is routed to the 4th channel of the mixer. Traktor does not recognize the gain and volume of the mixer because Traktor only sends out volume from each deck to each mixer channel; sound goes out of Traktor not into Traktor. You can have a more complicated setup by routing Traktor to Ableton and route everything out of Ableton into the mixer. Look for detailed routing methods on YouTube for this kind of set up. Good luck!
-
@amirmuzic hi, thanks for getting back to me :), does traktor recognise the volume and gain controls on the mixer once its been routed as you mentioned above or does it need to be programmed in traktor? this is a new way of mixing / setup for me, but defiantly something I want to explore further,
-
@Liam2326 If you mean midi mapping, no! I use the Kontrol X1 as the midi controlloer for Traktor. If you mean audio routing, I route each deck's output to an individual channel on the mixer. Happy mixing!
-
hi, did you have to map traktor and you mixer?
-
@takasifreeland Just give me the time in the video for the song you like and I will give you the track name. Tks.
-
@CommandoCaseMods Traktor Pro & Ableton are both running off the same computer. If you have a multi-channel soundcard, you can route Ableton's output to a separate channel of your mixer. I use either NI's Audio DJ 8 or a Korg Zero 4 in the studio. They each have a minimum of 4 In/Outs. I use 3 for Traktor and leave one for Ableton. This way you have more control over Ableton's output level and Eq's. Cheers!
