Ableton Tutorial: Synchronizing Ableton and Traktor using JACK for Windows
Tricks, Ratschläge, Online, Reparieren, Landwirtschaft, Landwirtschaft Maschine
This video is about synchronizing Ableton and Traktor using JACK for Windows. On Windows, unlike Mac, you need to install a Virtual Midi Driver (internal midi port). In this video I use LoopBe1, but the same can be done using Midi Yoke. Both are free and you can download them here: LoopBe1: http://nerds.de/en/loopbe1.html Midi Yoke: http://www.midiox.com/ Related videos: Midi Mapping between Traktor and Ableton (part 1) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iz2SU-QXn9I Midi Mapping between Traktor and Ableton (part 2) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuves7YX8PE

Thank you Peter ❤️👍🏻

thank you so much!!!

No clue really. Once you have installed an Internal Midi Port such as LoopBe1 it should automatically show up in Ableton Live. Make sure to run Ableton Live as Administrator and see if that makes any difference.

My Midi Ports section is blank, do you know why?

you are a god! thx for your all tutorial video <3

this its the only data that traktor can send? just sync play and tempo?

Yeah I have done this, seems my Audigy SE just doesn't like windows 7, i'm looking for a way to fix it, I tried to connect just line in and I never get latency from line in.. In Windows 7 I do, I didn't in XP, this has never been an issue.
-
I haven't experimented with Virtual Cable much, only tried it briefly, so I can't really say how it compares to JACK. If the lag you are referring to is latency, then it's a matter of setting this as low as possible. I'm not sure that is something you can control with Virtual Cable though. In JACK it is called "frames/period" in its setup window.
-
You're probably right, I was basing my experience on my retired XP OS, now I installed Win 7 a month ago "same computer". Huge improvement over lag, so I'll try JACK again, the lag I notice in 7 is from Virtual Cable, maybe JACK will be more beneficial?
-
I'm using a Core Duo 3.0Ghz without any problems. This PC is about 7 years old give or take, so JACK doesn't need an i7 at all. Maybe you have too much other things (services) running in the background, such as a virus scanner and whatnot.
-
I've learned that JACK connection kit needs a pretty powerful computer to work properly, like an i7? I have a Dual Core and I had trouble linking it to ableton and another problem without awful lag.

Bedankt voor je de duidelijke uitleg!! ik ga het eens uitproberen.

Downloaded MidiOX and was completely lost. I only barely got this far with the help of your videos. If you can figure it out please make another video to round out your series - How to make the deck volumes work. Thank you for your help.
-
So does it work for you? Controlling the volume of individual decks?
-
If it matters the controller Im using is the Numark mixtrack pro. Im using jack router with 10 outputs in external mixing mode on tracktor. Is there any way to make the volume sliders on my midi controller to be mapped to both ableton and tracktor at the same time?
-
I tried to map the sliders for deck a and b on Ableton but It would not work in both Ableton and tracktor. Basically the controller either only works in ableton or only in tracktor, it will not allow me to use the sliders only in ableton and the rest of the controller in traktor.
-
Thank you so much for the videos. I was finally able to make everything work on windows 7. The last issue I'm having is that when Tracktor is in external mixing mode the volume sliders for deck a and b stop working on my controller.
