[39] Forever Lock (VS) Liquid nitrogen + Hammer (Viewer Request)
Tricks, Ratschläge, Online, Reparieren, Landwirtschaft, Landwirtschaft Maschine
Here is a link to an article / test I was trying to replicate: http://www.popsci.com/diy/article/2012-08/gray-matter-how-science-helps-bike-thieves New Forever Lock V.2 out now! Complete Security- No Picking, No Bumping, No Foiling! https://theforeverlock.com/ Over the last year I have gotten multiple e-mails requesting if I could test the lock against liquid nitrogen/freeze spray attacks. Recently I had the opportunity to test out the attack with some help from a local laboratory. As you can see- the lock can be totally and completely frozen in a pool of liquid nitrogen, take a solid hammer beating and stay locked. Next time you've got the liquid nitrogen out, throw some across the ground(smooth) like you're bowling it....cool effect.

друг, лучше бы мне его подарил... этот чудо-замок

Venting the nitrogen would have destroyed the lock without force. Bathing is a poor cooling method.

Coming a bit late to the party here, but.... Dropping the temperature of the material and hitting it with a hammer is to get the temperature below the brittle/ductile fracture transition (FATT) whereby the material will fracture quickly with a lower number of hits. To make it work better in this situation I would suggest pre-cutting a small groove (by hacksaw perhaps) on the U-bar, then hitting next to the cut when cold. This will create a stress-concentration & a potential fracture initiation point from where brittle fracture can occur. Hitting heat-treated smooth metal bar like this was alway unlikely to give you results (sorry).

Where can we buy the forever locks in Africa?
-
Are there any bolt cutter tests? I doubt any lock can survive that...
-
Have you tried the master key, a Bolt Cutter?
-
metal is a bit different m8

People bitching... in a real situation who the fucks going to bring an anvil i mean cmon... liquid nitrogen is pretty extreme as it is but its more realistic as it is without the anvil... fuck sake guys your letting the team down with comments like that...

Hyopthetically, if someone were to do this to a lock actually chained to a bike, how the heck would the owner get the lock off the bike if it can't be unlocked?
-
Next try freezing the rotating end and hit the large "master" cylinder at the hinge -- while the lock is against the floor.

In New Zealand we call Jandals (or Thongs), Samoan Safety Boots...I see you are familiar with the concept...hahaha...
-
pretty good lock
-
HOw about you use thermite.
-
This is cool and all, but a battery grinder and a cutoff wheel would make quick work of almost any pad lock style lock.
-
Nice lock, but is it strong enough against NaCl or other kinds of chloride?.
-
@ 2:28 = LOL!!
-
Where does the average person obtain a jug of liquid nitrogen? How much does it cost?
-
I wouldnt mind seeing this lock used on a safe! its less about it being super safe to me as I would feel like a badass opening the safe.

Stainless steel will not shatter nor break at cryogenic temperatures. Ordinary steel will shatter.
